Why You Get Bags Under Your Eyes and What You Must Know About Baggy Eyes

In most cases bags under eyes are not serious, even though they have a negative effect on your appearance. But if the swelling is around the entire eye (referred to as periorbital puffiness) and is not due to an injury, it could be a symptom of an underlying illness or medical condition.

This article will help you identify what may be causing your baggy eyes. Then I'll show you how you can alleviate bags under your eyes, if not completely get rid of them.

Let's first find your cause of your eye bagginess and then find an effective solution. The goal is to have a healthy, smooth skin appearance on the face and the body.

**Mononucleosis Cause

In mononucleosis, the eye orbits become puffy and swollen. Usually, this occurs in the early stages of the infection. Other symptoms of mononucleosis include fever, weight loss due to loss of appetite and swollen lymph nodes.

**Hypothyroidism Cause

In hypothyroidism, the face becomes puffy and the orbits swell due to increased levels of hyaluronic acid. Low levels of hyaluronic acid typically accompany aging and have the opposite effect. Instead of being filled with fluid, the cells lose their moisture. The skin's layers start to sag as a result. Other symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, intolerance to cold, depression, joint pain and dry, itchy skin.

**Trichinosis Cause

Trichinosis is an illness caused by eating raw, infected pork. You would likely notice the fever and muscle pain, before you started worrying about periorbital puffiness.

If you have any of the other symptoms of the conditions mentioned above, see your doctor. If not, the cause of your baggy eyes could be any of the following:
? Allergies
? Excessive salt in the diet
? Alcohol consumption
? Cigarette smoking
? Fluid retention due to hormonal changes
? Sleeping too much
? Not sleeping enough
? Aging

Not sleeping enough is one of the most common causes, especially today. Fatigue and stress are common complaints. The whole thing can become a vicious cycle with stress making it difficult to sleep and fatigue causing even more stress.

Although everyone ages, bags under eyes are not symptoms that everyone experiences. Due to loss of hyaluronic acid, decreased collagen production, a general thinning of the skin's layers and gravity, the inferior (lower) orbital area can become very loose.

The skin in the periorbital area is thinner than on any other part of the body. The aging process can make it even thinner.

The loose skin in the inferior orbital area may feel with fluids. The fluids mostly leak from the fatty tissue layer through osmosis. If the area looks dark, the tiny blood vessels beneath the orbital skin may be leaking hemoglobin and waste products.

**Dark Circles

When baggy eyes are accompanied by dark circles, leaky blood vessels are the likely cause. Because the skin is very thin, the blood vessels are sometimes very noticeable. In most cases, the vessels are not visible. You can only see the fluids that leak from them.
Many people simply do not get enough nutrients in their diet. Stress and lack of sleep increase their need for nutrients, but they often eat the wrong foods, because they are tired and frustrated. It's another vicious circle.

Since there are so many causes, there is no short answer to how to get rid of bags under eyes. Another article is required to cover the subject completely. My next article will be devoted to the subject - How to Get Rid of Baggy Eyes. Please click the link in the resource box below for more information on How to Get Rid of Baggy Eyes.

What the Business World Can Teach Us About Relationships

In the business world we know "innovate or perish" we know "nothing ventured, nothing gained". In our intimate relationships what we seem to prefer is "leave well enough alone" and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". What's that all about? We know that a business, allowed to chug along will eventually encounter sagging sales and declining customer satisfaction - and yet somehow believe that our intimate relationships are not subject to the same tendencies?

Going one step further, in the business world we know "what's the latest and greatest" and "where's the next great idea". In our intimate relationships we seem to prefer "well, nothing's perfect" and let's "settle down". What's that all about? We seem to believe that business is all about growth and possibility and innovation and excitement - and that our intimate relationships don't really warrant the same consideration?

Chances are that two of the major life needs that your relationship provides for you are the element of comfort and security. And chances are that there is no one else in this world who knows you as fully as your partner does or that knows your partner as well as you do. And chances are there is no one else whose fortune is as linked to yours as closely as is your partners. And chances are that there is no one you trust or feel you can depend on as much as you can your life partner. So why do we tend to treat this relationship with varying degrees of benign neglect?

Probably because that's just not we've seen being modeled to us and besides we've all grown up and exist in an individualistic and me focused culture that has made a near-religion out of the worship of the individual. It's not that we don't recognize relationships to be valuable and desirable - it's just that we believe that they aren't really apart of taking me where I need to go and allowing me to leave my mark on the world. Of course if they fall apart they tend to make a serious impact on our ability to effectively achieve anything, at least for a while. So they can take us down, they can keep us in a comfort zone, or...

Is it possible that the majority of good relationships that already exist in this world are only operating at 10% of the capacity that they have - capacity to create change, evolution and even happiness. Is it possible that two authentic, conscious and evolving people partnered in an authentic, conscious and evolving relationship which leverages itself into the world might manifest all kinds of "next great ideas and innovations"? Is it possible that we just don't exactly know how to leverage relationships in that manner and quite how to handle the change, evolution and happiness that would ensue? That if we could figure out the how, then our chances of achieving whatever our particular individual and collective passion called for would be exponentially increased?

I wonder - what would happen if we permeated our intimate relationships with the "what's possible" mentality? Are you willing to find out?

The New Relationship Advice Everyone Is Buzzing About

What is the new relationship advice everyone is buzzing about?

It is the advice that to build a successful relationship and marriage, you need to be selfish enough to put your own needs first, ahead of everything else.

The logic behind this new relationship advice is that two individuals who know how to create their own happiness, will also be able to come together and form a winning team to create an even happier and healthier relationship and/or marriage.

Why is this new relationship advice causing such a buzz?

The reason this advice is causing a stir in the online community, is because this perspective is opposite to the traditional advice for a successful relationship - Which is to make the relationship a priority and compromise your needs instead.

Some people question what will happen when both parties insist on having their way and can't come to an agreement?

Others agree that individuals need to work on loving themselves before they can know how to love someone else.

Even so, why are relationship experts advocating such a radical change in focus as a strategy to sustain and grow a happy marriage?

There are three main reasons:

(1) People's expectations of what a marriage should look like has changed.

(2) Our concerns have shifted from our basic needs of food, water and shelter to those of self actualization (happiness).

(3) There are fewer consequences to the end of a relationship.

In summary, what this means is that individuals can easily leave a relationship for any reason they please. And more often than not, the reason can be as simple as 'I don't feel happy in this relationship anymore'.

Hence, relationship experts have found a solution to this issue by suggesting that individuals reclaim their own power to be happy, and to focus on making themselves happy instead of expecting happiness to come from an outer source (such as a relationship partner) instead.

So does this new relationship advice actually work?

Ultimately, it is up to the individual which advice they choose to act upon. Everyone has an opinion but if this is what relationship experts are advocating, I think it's worth a short.

Afterall, when you consider that

(1) The consequences of over-compromising your personal needs for 'the greater good' are resentment and loss of self-image;

(2) And you realize that in fact, nobody has ultimate control over your emotions except yourself;

(3) Plus if you don't stand up for yourself, who else will?

Then perhaps this new relationship advice can truly breathe some new life into relationships that have grown stale and unexciting, by offering a fresh approach to the way we've been doing things.
